Executive membership

The Centre for Education Economics (CfEE) is an independent think tank that aims to improve both policy and practice in education through impartial economic research. 
CfEE publishes a monthly research digest, together with books and in-depth policy studies, which in turn frame and inform our events programme, policy briefings, and comment pieces on day-to-day education policy matters.
The Centre hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including an invitation-only policy forum for executive-level decision-makers and policy influencers across the education and skills sectors.
Forum roundtables and dinners are held at a variety of venues in Westminster and central London and seek to provide a context for participants to examine, discuss, and share insights, under the Chatham House Rule, on policy and research that is relevant to the education reform agenda and impacts, directly or indirectly, on its sponsors’ interests, and the interests and objectives of CfEE.
These gatherings are introduced by research and policy specialists working in areas of relevance to education reform. A balance of expert and stakeholder views is sought both among members and guests in order to ensure that discussion generates insights that are useful for policymaking. Attention is given to identifying areas in need of greater focus and development, and to where more empirical research is required to better inform policy and practice. Areas of consensus and divergence are also identified to aid assessment of political viability. Roundtables typically conclude with drinks, giving the opportunity for further introductions and linking of those with shared interests.
Executive membership of CfEE includes:
  • subscription to our monthly Research Digest;
  • print copies of all our research reports;
  • priority invitations to all our events, with access to four forum dinner/roundtable places a year, and at least ten other events ;
  • access to confidential Notes for the Record and policy briefings (and/or video content) following each event.

Membership is by invitation and is offered, inclusive of access to the forum, to executives on the basis of an annual subscription, which may be shared with colleagues and/or guests, and on the same terms to individuals/consultants, but exclusively, at a discounted rate.

Wednesday 1st November (6.30 for 7pm till 9.30pm) – What lessons can free schools teach to other schools?: an evening with Toby Young, Director of the New Schools Network – a dinner, with discussion chaired by James Croft, Forum Chair and Principal at the Centre for Education Economics.
